J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Progressive Insurance (Frederick, MD) en janv. 2019

      Entretien

1/22/2019 - Applied 1/22/2019 - Received invite to complete their assessment 1/22/2019 - Received qualifying results 2/2/2019 - Received invite to complete phone interview 2/4/2019 - Completed phone interview and invited to in person interview during the phone call 2/4/2019 - Initiated background check 2/21/2019 - Completed face to face interview 2/22/2019 - Received phone call with the offer This review is going to be very long as I want to provide as much help as possible to potential job seekers. This was a very intensive process for me in comparison to several other interviews I had been through. I will cover everything from my tips regarding the assessment to the interviews. The assessment is very baseline. The mathematics required are butter especially when you are given the opportunity to use a calculator. Take your time, you are given a 2 hour allotment. You can realistically complete this in less than 30 minutes, but check your work. The assessment also includes “what would you do” questions and “rate 1-5” questions. Here’s a tip to ace these “1-5” questions, DO NOT ANSWER JUST ABOUT ANY 2-4. Take it from me, I have failed many of these with other companies because I say I “somewhat agree” with a statement. Be bold and assertive with your answers, you either strongly agree or don’t agree with a question. If they ask you “Is providing the best customer service the right thing to do at all times”, you STRONGLY AGREE with that. You may argue you don’t want to play a game with these assessments, but you need to have conviction in your answers for ANY assessment. For the phone interview they are going to jog over your resume to verify your information is correct. No need to worry about this, just beef up your resume prior to you submitting your application and be able to give brief overviews or your roles. The recruiter is going to ask what you know about the company. Literally go onto the website and spend 5 minutes there and right down 3-5 interesting facts about the company. For example, Progressive was the first insurance company to offer premium payments in installments. They also fostered over 5,000 internal moves last year, that’s pretty sick. She is then going to ask STAR questions. I see a lot of people on here hating STAR based questions, I get it. I hate them too. They are difficult and if you are unprepared, you will fail no matter what your experience is. The reality is, though, no matter what financial, insurance, STEM, or leadership position you apply for will most likely have STAR questions. I am roughly 2 years and 1 leadership job out of college. I have been through 15+ interviews with many coming with offers and most coming with decline letters. I can thoroughly say that at least 12 of them had STAR questions. You need to get good at them if you want to play the game. I interviewed with a reputable financial company during college and fell flat on my face with these STAR questions, I have been there. But get good at them! You can if I did. Situation Task Action Result Think about 10 situations you have been in, does not matter how impressive you think the examples are. Think about situations where you have been swamped with class work or a workload and you had to balance that out. Think about times that you dealt with a difficult group member, work member, or customer, how did you handle that? There are several resources online to help you, I used them. You got this, just prepare 10+ examples and format it with STAR and you will crush this! Lastly, know why you want to work with Progressive. The in-person is going to mimic the phone interview. Mine lasted only roughly 35 minutes and I interviewed with someone I was told I was not going to be interviewing with. I freaked out! I did not think I got the job based on what I read on here. I stayed calm, altered my resume for the role based on tips from the phone interviewer. I prepared my examples, different ones from the ones I used during the phone interview, and went in confident and in a full suit with a portfolio. Needless to say, I was offered the position. You can do this if I can! Nothing about what I did was special or unique, I was just prepared. Stay calm, be prepared, and know your worth. Follow my tips for the assessment not just for this job, but any assessment. Get familiar with STAR interviews, fall on your face a couple times. I did. I had an interviewer laugh at my answers before, don’t let that beat you down. Respond to it and show everyone who declined you what you have to offer! Follow my tips and be yourself and I promise you will either get the job or walk away with your chest out knowing you did everything you possibly could to succeed because that’s what winning really is.

It was a fairly lengthly process which involved the application, an assessment, pre-recorded one way interview, and a live virtual interview. Asked behavior-based STAR questions. It was extensive with at least 10 questions.

Met the minimum requirements, then I got a link to the four part assessment. Once I passed the assessment, almost right away I got an invite to a HireVue interview. Finally, I got to interview with real people.
