I was interviewed for a researcher role. This was a two-stage process - a 30-minute written assessment, and an in-person interview. The written assessment challenging due to content and time limit. The interview panel was welcoming and considerate. After the interview, I felt was heard and was able to express everything that I wanted. I was informed that I did not get the job. When I asked for feedback, my email was ignored. This shows lack of transparency within the recruitment process in relation to external stakeholders. The communication of outcomes and feedback to all interviewed applicants is not merely a recognition of time and efforts that applicants put into, it demonstrates that the organisation assessed and considered each applicant against the job specification and other applicants. This is an important part of being a transparent and accountable organisation.
