I was referred by a friend of a coworker. After an initial phone call, a coordinator sent me links for a scheduling app where I picked the time and day for interviewing at each step. There were a total of 5 steps including phone calls at the start and end. Only 3 steps of actual interviewing. First was a Code Signal at-home timed challenge. Second, an online code-pairing exercise. Third was an all day interview with 5 one-hour sessions in a row. This was all done remotely. The all day interview consisted of 3 coding sessions, 1 architecture/system design, and 1 leadership culture fit. Of the 3 coding sessions, one was "Build your own Flux", another was "Fix this App", and the final, a generic Algorithm/Data Structure problem. Overall the coding sessions felt like real pairing sessions. I kept vocalizing my thoughts, and remained open to their feedback and questions which lead to a very collaborative feeling interview process. One of the sessions we did not get to a final solution within the time limit, but it still felt like a successful session. Overall everyone I interviewed with was very pleasant and had a positive outlook for the future of Postmates.
