Initial phone screen, followed by a coding screen on the more practical side, then an onsite consisting of system design and behavioral interviews. Unfortunately after interviewing for over >4 hours, I got a curt rejection with no feedback. After asking for feedback multiple times as I thought the interviews went well, I received no response.

I applied for a Software Engineer Backend role at Pomelo and received an email to complete an assessment that was expected to take around 4 hours. The assessment involved creating solutions for various credit card payment scenarios. After passing all tests and submitting my solution, I received a standard rejection email two days later. Considering the time spent on the assessment, I believe applicants deserve a brief explanation of why their solution wasn't sufficient to move forward in the interview process. I reached out via email for feedback but haven't received a response. I am very disappointed with this process. Dear Pomelo hiring team, please value the time of your applicants.
