I applied for this position with previous experience in sales and finance. The first interview was a phone screen with a hiring manager. She asked basic questions about my background and what I know about the PE, M&A and VC industry. After answering all the questions, the interview seemed to go well as I was promised to continue the interview process with the sales manager in about a week. However, not even five minutes after the phone screen, I received an email that Pitchbook will pursue other candidates, which left me very confused. Why would you promise a candidate another interview over the phone, and then reject them over email right away? I have never experienced anything like this and was very disappointed with the hiring manager and the hiring process.

Simple, not too bad and pretty standard. Smooth interview process and was three rounds. Nice company and everyone I met and interviewed with were helpful and nice. There was a sales activity and they asked the normal interview questions.

The interview process started with a garnering of my understanding of the company's activities, followed by situational competency based questions. The interview was performed by senior development representatives whom made me feel comfortable.

Personality and ability to make a pitch. Work on the pitch a lot- that almost messed me up! Ask a lot of questions when you are pitching- that is what they want to see!
