      Entretien pour Senior GRC Analyst

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Ping Identity (Villas, NJ) en juin 2023

      Entretien

I passed a phone screen and was directed to take a personality and IQ test. I don’t tend to agree with the idea that candidates should have to take these, but it was free and only took about 30 minutes to complete. I was then asked to do a phone interview with the hiring manager, who spent nearly the entire length of the interview asking me in-depth questions about how the GRC process worked at my previous company. About 10 minutes in, I got the impression that she was more interested in my knowledge of my previous employer’s risk management program than she was in me or my candidacy for the role. At the end of the conversation, I was told that there were actually two roles open, the senior one that I had applied for, and a more junior one that hadn’t been decided yet. The interviewer told me that the junior one would be more in line with my skills (which she hadn’t actually asked about), and that the pay would be substantially lower than the senior role, but that the actual salary range hadn’t been decided yet. I understand wanting a more experienced candidate for a role, but I do not understand why the hiring manager thought it was appropriate to bombard me with specific technical questions about the tools used at my previous role. Other than the “elevator pitch”/standard introduction, I got maybe one or two points in about things I actually worked on or did before I was directed right back to answering questions about the process at my previous job. I was not offered the job (which was expected), and I ended up with the impression that I had given them an hour of free GRC consulting under the guise of a job interview. NOT cool.
