      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez PhotonPay (Los Angeles, CA) en mars 2026

      Entretien

Received an email from a local based manager to schedule a virtual interview. The position is remote. The interviewer was pleasant and friendly. The discussion covered the usual - organizational background, the direction of the business, and my professional background. Afterwards, didn't hear back so I sent an email. The overseas HR which is based in China sent an email invite for another chat. The HR person is friendly but asked about my age, my current marital status, and my compensation requirement. The organization advertised a position without stating the salary which is a requirement. I did inform them of the requirement and I also told them my age which is over 50. I wanted to see the reaction and did ask if that was too old for them. I guess they felt they should advance me to the 3rd interview. The final round is with the company counsel who is based in Singapore and speaks decent English. We spoked for over an hour but felt the conversation was just fluff and not leading anywhere. They didn't reject me immediately. I noticed they had reposted the position, and with salary this time. I already knew there was no deal but sent them an email inquiring their decision. HR said legal counsel said they were moving forward with another candidate. How ancient and old school is this place? Asking candidates personal questions. What does that even do? It's completely irrelevant to the job. What is the point?
