I submitted an online application. The HR Director contacted me with some follow-up written questions to be submitted and followed up with a phone call. I promptly responded to the questions by email and followed up by phone the following day.
The day after I followed up by phone and left a message, the HR Director returned my call and we had a brief phone interview. She seemed very enthusiastic about me as a candidate and said that the next step was for an in-person interview. She let me know who would be contacting me and that they would be following up within about 1-2 business days to schedule a time.
I didn't hear anything for 3 business days, so I called the HR Manager back and left 3 voicemails over the coming 2-3 weeks. No return calls. I also sent 2 follow-up emails, again receiving NO response.
How difficult is it to respond and let someone know they're no longer being considered or that the hiring timeline has changed? Incredibly unprofessional, especially for someone with this title. I felt very poorly treated as a candidate and would not apply to work for Pearson again.
