I went through the interview process and received a job offer for this role. After reviewing the offer, I tried negotiating my pay and asked about possible commission payouts, given the small sales aspect of the position. The owner, Philip, took this the wrong way and rescinded my offer. Despite expressing my continued excitement for the role and signing the job offer, my offer was withdrawn. Philip left a voicemail stating he would trust his "gut feeling" and rescind the offer. This experience was unprofessional and disappointing, especially since I declined multiple other interviews with other companies I was interviewing for. Philip should consider conducting reference checks instead of making assumptions about candidates.
