The interviewer seemed unprepared, disinterested, and showed no interest in assessing my technical skills, despite the interview being for engineer role. The questions were vague and poorly thought out, and the interviewer did not seem to understand what a software engineer's role entails. There was no opportunity to demonstrate my technical skills, and I was not given any coding exercises, asked to solve any problems, or perform any relevant technical tasks. Overall, my experience with PayPal Braintree was a complete letdown. As a software engineer, I expect to be evaluated based on my technical skills and abilities, and it was clear that the company had no interest in doing so. I would not recommend anyone to waste their time interviewing with this company if they are looking for a genuine technical assessment for a software engineering position.
