The interview process was structured, but the HR processes were a complete mess. I had a exploratory call with the hiring manager and then another four loop rounds. Post that, the HR went silent and dropped me after 3 weeks that the position was filled in internally and since my feedback was positive, they want to consider me for another team, if I am interested. I was told that I would have just one round with the new hiring manager. I agreed and so I had a discussion with the hiring manager and post that was told to submit a PRD for one of the features they were trying to build. I did that and post that, the HR called me and told me that they would like to do another 6 rounds with the panel all over again. I agreed to that as well. So in the end, I had 11 rounds with them and one offline assignment and guess what? The HR went silent after this. No reply to email or the messages or the calls. They have been in touch with me for 3 months and post 11 rounds of discussions, I wish they had told me the -ve news on the email/call. But they refuse to reply to any modes of communication.

Please don't ever interview here. This was my second time interviewing here, and as someone who made it to the final round, the bias is blatant. My first time interviewing? After completing a take-home assignment, PayPal literally ghosted me - not a single feedback or personalized email. Context on the "bias" the second time: After 2 rounds of interview with the Venmo Debit team, with 4 interviewers, the recruiter told me it was down to me and 1 other candidate; then he came back 3 weeks later to tell me that they wanted another interview, with a new hiring manager, who he thought was interested in interviewing her "own people". I tried pushing back that interview, because I didn't want to be competing with pre-selected people, but they insisted I should interview with this new hiring manager anyway, so I did. *Early on* in my interview with this white lady, I asked her what her plan for the interview process is, now that she's basically restarting the process. Her answer? "I'm not sure. We have lots of qualified candidates." Additionally, this interview was ridiculously easy; she asked me questions like, "How do you prioritize?" For context, I had already made it to 5 other final-round interviews, so I felt like my answers for table-stake questions like this really strong. I also recorded my answers from this interview to review later on with a product management leader, and he told me my answers were near-perfect. Both of these facts tell me that she only agreed to interview me for optics, and she indeed already had her own people that she wants to bring in. Based on the fact that she was not promoted a single time during her 6 years at another similar financial service firm, it's probably a good thing she won't be my manager... After this entire ordeal, I very politely asked the recruiter, initialed RS, for feedback, and he told me verbatim, "We do not give feedback." I understand liability concerns, but I've interviewed with Capital One, Mastercard, etc., and they + everyone else has given me feedback after interviews. PayPal is the only one that, after telling me I was a final-round candidate and dragging the whole process out by an extra month, doesn't have the decency to do so. Please save your energy - PayPal and Venmo are not worth it.
