It consisted of Object Oriented, PHP, SQL & Linux command questions. They mostly wanted a person who knew PHP & SQL, which I didn't. I had edited some stuff on PHP but never created anything. And in SQL, I took a one semester class which I had forgotten most of it already. It was a half an hour long question session through the phone. Some of the questions were:
-Why in Java does it require "static" in the main function?
-What's a static function?
-What's outer & inner join in SQL?
-Give me a SQL statement that returns the count of number of rows.
-How do you sort by / group by?
-What are sessions in PHP?
-What are double $$ in PHP?
-What are the following Linux commands: more, less, pipe, grep (also a problem involving grep)?

I had the first round of interview with the Manager for about 45 to 50 mins. After 3 weeks, I had the second round of interview with one of the developers. It was an online coding test mostly concentrating on Javascript and one question involving algorithms and data structures. The next business day I got a mail from the Talent Acquisition team asking me to come onsite for an interview. The onsite interview went on for about 4 and a half hours with about 5 mins of break. It was mostly white board coding and tested my skills in HTML, CSS and Javascript. It also involved some problem solving and puzzle kind of questions. The last round of onsite interview was with the manager which went on for about an hour and 15 mins.
The only negative thing about the whole process was, after spending so much effort and time travelling and preparing for the interview, PayPal doesn't even bother to give the feedback. 2 Days after the onsite interview I got a mail saying they are considering other applicants for this position, but they don't bother telling you what was the feedback from the interview panel despite my repeated emails.

I applied for a web developer position on their website. A few days later, received email scheduling phone interview. The interview was about 45 minutes long. Turned out they are looking for someone who's more focused on back-end developing while I was more focused on front-end. Did not hear from them after the interview, not even a rejection letter...
