The interview process was long and demanding, spanning multiple rounds and requiring significant time, including evenings and weekends across time zones, with slow, uneven communication between stages. Most notably, the role itself changed halfway through: what was initially presented as a full-time position was later revealed to be a 3 month contract-to-start, a material shift disclosed well into the process rather than up front. It also became clear the company hadn’t worked out the fundamentals of hiring and employing someone in the US, despite actively recruiting for a US-based role - they couldn’t answer basic questions regarding benefits. And while the process demanded depth and detail at every turn, the eventual feedback faulted my answers for being “too detailed” — a mixed signal about what’s actually valued. The overall impression was of a company interviewing before it had decided what the role even was.
