Reached out to recruiter directly and a phone screen was scheduled quickly. The recruiter was very informative and the interview increased my excitement level about the position. Progressed to the hiring manager interview. The initial time was cancelled due to a scheduling conflict and the second interview was extremenly rushed. It didn't seem like the hiring manager wanted to be there and didn't have time. They informed me that it wasn't going to be their decision on who they would hire for the role. The hiring manager also mentioned an employee who had "decided" that they needed to take a leave and didn't "want" to work anymore. When I inquired to their management style, the hiring manager jumped directly to when there is an issue with an employee and it is necessary to jump to get the situation under control or take other necessary actions, they will. I felt it was a little odd for the hiring manager to address that question with such negativity. So many positive things could have been said about management style. After finishing the interview my initial response was "there is no way I can work for this person." My responses to questions were cut off before I could fully respond and felt I could not work in what felt like a very negative environment. I never heard back from anyone, which I was definitely okay with.
