I received an email letting me know that my resume fit the requirements by a recruiter in San Diego. She said that for this particular position, the Store Director would like to meet with me and the recruiter gave me a few dates that were open. I immediately replied with my availability and then heard nothing. I called the recruiter a couple of weeks later and she seemed a little put-out that I had called her directly, but set up an in-person interview shortly afterwards. I met with the Store Directer at their Austin location. He gave me a tour and was very friendly. The interview was about an hour and a half. He spoke mostly about how great the company was and how he loved his job. He really made me feel excited for the company. I really thought I had a good rapport and a positive interview. When the interview was over, he said he had a good gut feeling about me. He thought I would work well with the rest of his staff and thought that he would like to give me an offer. He did say he would have to double-check budgets and that he would have to confer with the HR department. He even brought me over to meet with another one of the staff members. He told me that I would hear back from either him or the recruiter by Tuesday, the following week, with further details. Tuesday came and went and nothing. On Wednesday, I called and left him a message. Friday, I sent the recruiter a follow-up email and nothing. I know that with a job like this, there are typically several people involved with these decisions, so I decided to be patient. I will admit that I was disappointed that there was no communication in regards to the status of my interview, especially since I took time out of my day to meet in person. I waited for 3 more weeks and assumed I did not get the job, but decided to write one more email to the recruiter. I finally got an email back thanking me for my patience and that they hired from within. She did say that now that they know me, they would keep my resume on file. Obviously she was trying to let me down easy.

I was contacted by a Pirch recruiter. A phone interview was scheduled with the recruiter a few days later. The interview lasted for about an hour. After the phone interview, I was scheduled to interview with the Store Director and Sales Manager. A day later the recruiter contacted me and scheduled me to interview with HR.
