Too many rounds of interview (5), was ghosted for months, with non-updates to string me along until eventually I just withdrew my application, interviews should be 2 rounds at most

Initially an interview was setup with the MD. Although we had arranged a certain time, he called half an hour earlier and asked whether we could speak there and then. Initially we discussed for a job description involving only optics design and then it digressed into computer programming, design and other mixed tasks. The next interview was going to be an 8 hour session split across 2 days with 6 different people asking questions. There was no description of the interviewers so I could prepare, apart from their first names which the administration was trying to remember during the interview arrangements. I would have to impress them all in order to get the job and yet had no information to prepare. I decided to avoid such a setup as its more appropriate for graduates rather than experienced professionals.
