      Entretien pour Sales Representative

      17 sept. 2014
      Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
      New York, NY
      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative
      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez PFP (New York, NY) en juill. 2014

      Entretien

I was contacted by one of their recruiters, then I was asked to complete multiple paperwork online in addition to the application, including a background check. These are the type of paperwork one completes after getting the job, but these guys seemed to do  it in reverse and I couldn't understand why as it all was time consuming.  I was later scheduled to interview with the VP, then a week later then I was scheduled  to meet with the field manager  for a second interview at a hospital here in New York City where they have a table set up. I was asked by that manager to approach people and try to get them to sign up for their disability plan.  I felt  like I was in training, it was a very interesting experience.  They cater to city employees so their main niche market seems to be mostly minorities.    The sales and management team does not appear to be very diverse either. As a minority myself, I'm usually leary of going to interviews at these types of  companies that lack diversity.  The field manager and I seemed to have hit it off though and she seemed impressed with my resume and background.  To my surprise though, I received  an email within 48 hrs later stating that my background did not suit their needs at this time.   Are you kidding me? I am an experienced and licensed Accident and Health   insurance sales professional. Most of the post I've read on here have been posted by people who weren't licensed and had to be sponsored by the company.  One of their new reps whom  I met at the hospital came from a mortgage background .   This  is an insult to my intelligence and to an insurance professional.   They must be hiring  people on the basis of anything but experience in the insurance industry. There are way many incompetent people working in management in this city.

It was a panel of interviewers from HR and management. They talk about how they claim the ladder and how long with the company I just get the vibes that they just seem very unhappy with their current position. I didn’t feel any enthusiasm. It was very bland and I felt like I was talking to a wall I’m afraid that they don’t know what they really want or what they’re looking for so make sure you ask questions like what exactly are they looking for in this new employee and ask for very specific things because from the questions they ask if I don’t think they know what they want so be careful

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

They will ask things like your accomplishments your goals. If you have any university background that ask, why did you pick that type of background they just really dig into your personal life they ask things like how would you handle a difficult clients? How would you close a sale? Do you have any issues closing sales? So your answer better be strategic to their liking so please don’t sound like yourself sound like you’re a ChatGPT

J'ai postulé en personne. Le processus a pris 1 semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez PFP

      Entretien

I met with a recruiter at a job fair and spoke with them about the position. I then had an interview with territory manager, recruiter and another rep who I spoke with at the job fair. They asked basic questions about my job history, etc. they asked if I would like to do a field day with the rep and I agreed. The next day I met with the rep at a credit union to see what a day would be like. They did not exactly sell the job as it is. The job consists of going to different credit unions each day and basically "cold selling " the insurance members of the credit union who walk in, stand in line, etc. the field day was a good opportunity to see what the job would entail and I did not see it as something I could do on a daily basis so I then reached out to the recruiter and said the job was not for me. They do offer a decent base salary though and they told me the details right upfront in the interview.

The name PFP was not familiar to me. I was contacted by a recruiter who saw my resume on indeed. After speaking to this company representative I was excited and learned more about the company and opportunity which was better than the one I was in. Their process was to complete an application and background information which I did. About a week later I met the hiring manager who was enthusiastic and someone I could picture myself working for. I was invited to see the job kind of like a job shadow where I interacted with customers in a credit union environment. It gave me a chance to see if I would like this type of work. I did! Shortly after an offer was made. I accepted
