Started off great, then turned into one of the most insulting and humiliating experiences Ive been through. A higher-up reached out to me via LinkedIn. We set up a video interview with him and one of the sales managers. It went well - he asked about my previous sales experience and how much I knew about software sales. He told me about Plate IQs culture and the type of work Id be doing. We spoke for 20 minutes.
Soon after it ended, he set up another video meeting, this time with a higher-up sales manager. We got on video chat and as soon as the meeting started I could tell he was a much more intense personality. He asked short questions and expected short answers, cutting me off and changing the subject frequently. Whatever, thats fine. The last question he asked was below. I answered "summer", so he asked me to "sell me on winter". I was a bit thrown off, so I kind of spitballed - I said something like "everyone likes summer, but winter is a good time for reflecting, re-strategizing, setting pace for the year ahead..." I spoke for about 15 seconds before he rudely cut me off to say "this is the most terrible answer Ive ever heard. You have no idea how sales works. You didnt ask a single question, youre just rambling about nonsense." I stayed silent, then he said "were done here" and left the chat. That was the last I heard from Plate IQ. To this day I still think about how disrespectful and cruel this was. I am a top sales performer, but apparently I didnt fit the Jordan Belfort 90s era d--khead mold they were looking for.

Only made it to the first round but the interviewer wasn't really paying attention to me towards the end. The interviewer seemed to be paying more attention to the notifications on her laptop.

I was contacted through LaunchSource about interviewing me for this role. My recruiter from LaunchSource (who's supposed to give me information about the company) didn't know anything and PlatedIQ didn't have a career page. The interview was pretty average and the company wanted to move me to the next round. However, I declined as the base salary and OTE is well-below market at $40K base with OTE at $56K. They tried to make me continue by saying money isn't everything but that base it just insulting for the role requirements. That's barely more than minimum wage in NYC.
