I applied on a position in the company. I was called by the recruiter and told that my profile is a better fit for another existing position and check if I would be interested to take my candidacy ahead for that. After careful consideration of the job description I agreed for that. Post this I had to chase the recruiter for more than a month to get my interview scheduled. Finally exactly after 42 days of follow up a discussion was scheduled with the hiring manager who made sure to ask all the questions which were not as per the role mentioned in the JD. On confronting, I was told that I am being given extra knowledge about how the other teams work here. Although that was unusual but I was ok with the extra learning. Post the discussion I again received the call from the same recruiter, enquiring if she has ever scheduled any discussion with anyone to which I reminded her about the discussion with the hiring manager, also expecting the result of discussion. Later on rigorously following up for the result I was told that I have been rejected by the hiring manager. To my wonder, even without having questions on my profile and skillset I was rejected for a position which according to the recruiter was a fit for me based on my expertise. "How and Why?", still remains unanswered for me as my number was blocked soon after that. Its disheartening to have so much of unprofessionalism served from company with such big names.
