      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez OptionsHouse (Chicago, IL) en sept. 2015

      Entretien

      1. Phone screening with recruiter: I was contacted by the recruiter and asked basic questions about what I do in my current role. 2. Telephonic with hiring manager: Recruiter had scheduled a call with the hiring Manager. I was waiting for the call but she did not call on the scheduled time and also did not care to inform. When I reached out to the recruiter, she rescheduled the call. This time the manager called 15 minutes late than the scheduled time. I still attended the call and provided the details about my current position and experience. At the end of the call she sounded very satisfied and said that they would like to call me in for a personal interview at the office location 3. Personal Interview: It was scheduled for 2 hours but got completed in 1 hour 45 minutes. The 1st half an hour was with a Jr QA Automation engineer - I did not like this part because the position was that of an architect level and the person taking interview was way junior. I think he was a college pass out with 1 year of experience. The 2nd half hour was with Mobile and Innovation Manager - Asked about my self and current position. Asked a java program. I got stuck at one point so he helped me with the solution. The 3rd half hour was with a QA Analyst - Gave good introduction about what the company does and how is the team structured. Then asked the same question as the 2nd interviewer. I told him that they have already asked this to me but he still insisted on writing the same code. So I wrote the solution that was provided by the 2nd interviewer and this one said this is not the correct approach. I don't know why he gave this solution to you. And he gave me the correct approach according to him. The 4th one was with the hiring manager - This was the same lady who had taken my telephonic interview. She was scheduled for half an hour but the first sentence she said as soon as she entered was - "I only have 15 minutes". I did not like this specially because this was happening again with same person which gave an indication to me that she does not respect other's time. Another thing I noticed about her was she kept on saying that this is how I want the team and that is how I want things to work, which I did not like because it gave an impression to me that she was bossy and wanted to run things in her way rather than per the vision of the company. Anyways, she asked me about my experience (which was clearly written in the resume as well as discussed with her in the telephonic round) and after listening to that she said this - "This is clearly not what we are looking for. We need someone with more experience than what you have". I was horrified at this. I do not understand why they called me for a personal interview and wasted my time when they already knew that what my experience was and that this is not what they were looking for. I had to take off at my work and travel by train 1 hour to and fro to attend that interview. Overall, I had a negative experience as there was no coordination between the interviewers and I was asked the same java program 3 times. Also, they do not have senior people to interview and its not comfortable when you are being interviewed by a fresher for a mid-senior position. The most important thing is the hiring manager had a lot of attitude as if they do not need a candidate for the company but they are doing a favor by taking interview for a job. And at the same time she does not have any respect for other's time. I had seen similar reviews on glassdoor but they were less so I thought may be things have changed and I should give it a shot. But I was wrong. I have learnt my lesson (the hard way) - believe in the glassdoor reviews and ratings no matter how less or how old they are.
