I want to share my experience with Oportun to help others avoid a similar situation. After 4 round of interviews and through discussions about compensation , taken all my document for verification, I was assured that an offer letter was on the way.
Recruiter confirmed one level of approval is already there on my so called offer letter.
Then after weeks of follow-ups and repeated reassurances from the HR team, I was shocked to learn that the position had been backfilled. They then asked me to interview again for a different team, which felt completely unprofessional and disorganized.
This experience raises serious concerns about Oportun's hiring practices and internal communication. It seems that candidates can be led on without any regard for their time or commitments. I had even put another job offer on hold based on the assurances I received from Oportun, only to be left in the lurch.
I urge potential candidates to think twice before engaging with this company. The lack of transparency and respect for candidates' time is alarming. I would not recommend pursuing opportunities with Oportun unless significant changes are made to their hiring process.
I will name of all the people involved in the process, but i don't want to go there.
