      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Old Navy (Huntington Beach, CA) en oct. 2014

      Entretien

I completed an Old Navy application (on-line) in September. I was called (finally) last week (week of October 13). I attended the Open Interview (e.g. Group Interview). The training manager asked all candidates to walk around the store and select an outfit. After all candidates did so, we were directed to the breakroom. We introduced ourselves, then asked to explain why we chose the outfit. In addition, we were told to bring an item that is special to us and we were asked to "introduce" that item and tell why the item was special. This group interview was brief and included a Q & A period. After putting away the outfits we selected, some candidates were dismissed and told "we'll call you on Monday". Those who weren't told this were asked to stay and we were ushered back to the breakroom. The manager asked to speak to me first and wanted to talk with me about my position of interest, hours/availability, or any other questions that I had. The two positions I was interested in did not fit into my schedule so the only position available was sales. The manager told me that she'd call on Monday. It's Tuesday and to date I haven't received a call or email from the manager. I would NOT feel sad or disappointed if I weren't selected for the position (i.e. sales) because it wasn't my first choice. More importantly, I put God first. If this job were meant for me, I woulda' been blessed with it. However, I do not like the unprofessionalism of this manager or anyone who says, "I'm gonna' do this." It's one of my pet peeves--if one says he's gonna' do something--do it! In hindsight I am glad that things happened this way 'cause it's an indication of her management style. I do not want to work for a manager who is unreliable and lacks follow through. This is a strong indicator of her being this way with scheduling, payroll, etc.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

There wasn't a difficult or unexpected question in this interview as it was a group interview and the managers just wanted to "see" and "feel" if the candidate would be the right fit for the store. I am sure that looks/appearance, voice, and attire have a lot to do with deciding who will move on to the next step.
