I applied to the role via their the Okta website using Greenhouse. After not hearing anything for over a month I assumed my application was unsuccessful. I then however received an email from the recruiter who mentioned that they received my application and were keen to move to the interview process. The first step would be to speak to the recruiter on the phone for the recruiter to learn more about me, explain the role in more detail and answer any questions I might have.
Emailed backwards and forth and had a telephone conversation in which I was explained the different stages of the interview proces (4 in total taking up around 2 weeks, not including the telephone call). I was promised I would be contacted again at the end of the day or at the latest the following day to schedule me in for an interview. I was not contacted that day neither was I contacted the following day. After a few days not hearing anything I contacted the recruiter to provide me with a status update as I was keen to move forward. Whereas the touch was personal before I then received (5 days later) an automated email from Greenhouse that my application would not be taken forward to the interview stage. Rather strange as it was first mentioned that I would receive information when the interview process would start.
It can of course happen that a the hiring manager is not interested anymore due to better candidates. You should however then have the courtesy to reply to an email and explain what has occurred rather than using the automated system. Kind of left a bitter aftertaste and it changed my impression of the company.

There are many rounds, many of which are somewhat repetitive. Not all interviewers are well prepared for the interview, and it shows when they aren't sure which team the applicant is applying to join

The interview is a waste of time for both the hiring manager and the candidate by offering a phone interview to internationals while not being able to provide sponsorship. A better alternative would be directly including the inability to sponsor internationals in the job description, so candidates' time would not be wasted.

Overall great structured process, HR recruiter was very responsive and people running the interviews were approachable.
