      Candidature

J'ai passé un entretien chez Nextag (San Mateo, CA) en août 2009

      Entretien

Contacted them through craigslist, got a technical phone screen and then an in person interview. No lunch was provided. Went through 4 interviewers, one who asked no technical questions and one who asked only technical questions. Afterwards, was called back for a second interview with the VP and SVP at the time. I was given the job on the spot, at higher than my asking price.

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Nextag en oct. 2011

      Entretien

I had a conversation with the recruiter who set me up for two phone screens: One was supposed to be with a more senior person who was supposed to talk to me about the company while the other was supposed to be from a person who would do a generic 101 tech screen. The tech screen was fairly easy but involved writing a lot of code. The senior person never called and rescheduled for another day where he missed the call and then called me a half an hour later when I had already left. The call was weird: He first asked me if I was in front of a computer and then tried to to do a tech interview instead of telling me about the company. He followed on with some silly behavioral questions in a rather aggressive manner. I didn't think too much of the whole experience until I got the call to do an onsite. The experience was not bad: I found the engineers fairly smart with typical data structures/algorithm questions. I finally met with the same dude whose phone screen I found weird. He keeps on acting like an @$$hole, then once everything is done, walks me down out of the building. I ask him when I can hear back from the company - He tells me that if I wanted to I should take any of the other offers I had because they would take their own time in making a decision. I was like WTF. In a few days they sent me a not too exciting offer which I probably would have taken if it were not for the extremely weird vibe that guy gave me.
