The hiring process was to include an initial interview, followed by a technical interview, and then an aptitude test. My first interview was a phone conversation with one of the partners of the firm. She was cordial and explained the requirements of the position. A couple red flags: she mentioned that she was the only woman in the firm, and she expressed concern that I did not have a 4.0 GPA in my undergrad, which was 12 years prior. I was not advanced to the technical interview or the aptitude test, and it was explained that "the position requires more technical experience."
