Initial phone screen and additional virtual interviews with multiple members of the team.
Got the impression I wouldn’t be a fit with the team so wasn’t surprised to not get an offer.
After investing multiple hours of interviewing, I felt it was unprofessional to not get a formal rejection email. They essentially just ghosted me. Also followed up with HR to see what was going on with the role. No response. This took place several months ago so my assumption is the role has been since filled.
I’ve gotten a rejection emails from companies I’ve never interviewed with and only sent a résumé. So in my opinion, it is especially unprofessional when you invest time in the interview process and that company never acknowledges the fact that they have chosen someone else for the role. It takes two seconds to send a ‘thank you for your time, we’ve gone with another candidate‘ email.
If this experience is indicative of company culture, I am relieved it didn’t work out.
