There's really no back and forth interview, everything revolves around the MTC exam that basically no one has any information about. The whole thing feels a little scammy, but they don't require you to pay for anything so it can't be a very good scam. The only thing might be that you are offered a chance to buy a study guide that isn't required. It's very expensive and I have extensive ex phys credentials so I declined. There's no way to know if that affected my offer.
The test is incredibly thorough. I would not recommend attempting it without a graduate degree. There are 30 total essays interspersed throughout the exam so it really does take three hours to complete. The question forms are exceptionally strange and more IQ based than simple knowledge of physiology. All in all, if didn't feel like anything I couldn't handle. Out of 280 Q's there were only three of four that I really didn't know the answer to.
Took a little more than a week to get my results. This is the part that feels dishonest. It's a long e-mail that essentially says I didn't get the 82% required to receive an offer. There's no score given, in fact the e-mail states,
"our exam performance is part of an internal recruitment evaluation process and is for NHE hiring managers only. Any/All requests for exam processing details, grading protocols, performance evaluations/feedback or other additional information relating to the processing of this exam will be denied. All exam processing results are final and are not subject to debate or any form of explanation by the examinee."
The only indication I have of the score is that I also didn't get the 75% that would have been required to get a study guide reimbursement. My assumption is that there are very specific things in the study guide that they are expecting to see on the test. Take that for what it's worth. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to pass the test, but I maintained a very high GPA in a very highly ranked ex phys graduate program, so it feels unlikely.
In all, I don't trust the company. The entire process doesn't feel like they're actually interested in recruiting anyone. It makes you wonder how they would act if you started working for them. I won't write another review that outwardly accuses them of being a scam because I simply cannot tell. And it would be a damn complicated scam for very little pay off if that were the case. It's just really strange and draconian and probably not worth your time. I know it's not worth mine.
