I interviewed with the recruiter. The first question she asked was would is the minimum salary I would accept. I specified what my salary requirement was when I submitted my application which was within the range specified in the job listing. However, she stated they never pay at the high end of the range. Don't list a salary range you are not willing to pay and don't waste my time by trying to low ball me. The fact she did not ask me a single interview question or get to know me prior to asking about the salary, tells a lot about the company and their priorities. After we discussed salary, she read off of a list of basic scripted questions. I was not impressed by the company or the process.
