I applied and was contacted two weeks later on a Friday for a first-round interview with someone directly on the team that I applied to. She was extremely curt and not super expressive - a little on the antisocial side. Towards the end of the interview she said that she had a 2 hour data test for me that needed to be completed by Sunday.... I had a work shift the rest of my Friday and on Saturday I was traveling somewhere 3 hours away and had to be up early in the morning so I asked her if I could do it Monday instead and she refused.
Who gives someone something to do over the weekend without even asking if they have time to do it/on such short notice??? As an applicant too? I haven't even started working and they're already being disrespectful about my time.... I ended up working on it very late at night and got 4 hours of sleep before my trip on Saturday. What a joke.
I got contacted by another member of the team 2 days after I submitted my data test asking for a second round. She was also very curt in her email and had a set of times that she wanted me to choose from. I responded saying I was not interested. If they can't respect my time as an applicant, imagine what they'd throw at me out of nowhere as an employee. I was totally turned off by how aloof/cold the two people that contacted me were and how inflexible they were. I would not want to be working with people like this, my summer would be miserable.

It was a highly technical interview, there were no traditional interview questions. Posed hypothetical situations about copyright ownership and asked how you would respond or what advice you would give.
There were three rounds -- one by phone and two online with two editors/reporters each. The calls lasted about 30 minutes. I had the opportunity to ask questions at the end.

Question 1
Why NPR? What's something about you that I wouldn't know from your application?
There was a initial interview with the manager and the senior person in my internship position asking more technical questions and then a couple other interviews with other people on the team.
