      Entretien

I applied online and was called a few weeks later to participate in a phone interview with HR. The phone interview was about 30 minutes and they asked routine job related questions to see if you would be a good fit for the position. I understand that the questions are scripted but there was no personality coming through from the HR side. Once the phone interview was completed, I was immediately scheduled for an in person interview with HR the following week. I arrived for my in person interview 15 minutes early, dressed in business attire and well prepared with a fresh copy of my resume and well versed on the company. The in person interview was about 45 minutes long and was with a different HR person. I signed a few forms agreeing to a background check and drug test if offered a position. I was asked some pretty typical questions such as: Why do you want to work for NJM? What makes you a good fit for the position? How do you deal with irate customers? I answered them without hesitation and in detail. However, at one point, I started to get a feeling that I was being interrogated. It became very intense. It's not that the questions were challenging either. I asked a few questions at the end and the HR person was able to answer them in a positive manner. Once the interview concluded, I was advised that the next step is for HR to review the interview results with the department management for a possible final interview. I have been on quite a few interviews recently that have been with HR representatives and various levels of management. I have NEVER felt shocked about the way it was handled. Almost all interviewers were professional and cordial. NJM left me with an uneasy feeling and not what I expected. If this is how I felt as a potential employee, how do existing employees feel?
