I filled in an application form and then heard back a few days later. I was asked to attend an interview at the hospital I wanted to volunteer at. I was interviewed by a panel of three people - a volunteer co-ordinator, one of the senior nurses at the hospital and someone from the team I now work with. The interview was very informal and short. I was also required to complete a DBS (formerly CRB) check, because the role involves working with vulnerable people.

A short 15 minute interview, a few screening questions, then a discussion about which role I would be best suited for and some admin stuff like taking a photo for a key card.
