Very basic, a quick video of the position, a questionaire, plus on the shop floor review. Took under 2hrs and was a group interview. Got offered the position at the end and plus a £10 congratulation gift card. Followed by 6 days training over 4 weeks at the Hayes store.

I applied online and was taken through an online questionnaire which is really simple. From there you can ‘quick apply’ to loads of jobs that Next have on in various stores. I was then called about a week later to discuss the position and when I would be available for a telephone interview. The telephone interview was simple (questions stated below) I was then invited to a face to face interview a few days later. The face to face interview included around 30 minutes on the shop floor and also a role play with the interviewer. They just want to see if you’re comfortable interacting with customers and they don’t mind if you don’t know all the answers. I actually wasn’t given any formal questions during the face to face interview but instead I had to watch 2 short clips of people working on the shop floor and pick out what was wrong and what was good about how they were working. They offered me the role on the spot and were extremely kind and friendly throughout the whole process.

Applied online on the next careers page. Had to do basic verbal and mathematic reasoning before having a personality quiz to see if you are "a good match" to the store. This then stands on your account for any roles you apply for within the company. Got rejected from one post after being receiving an email saying I'd been shortlisted but applied to another and got a call/ phone interview the next day. Was asked a few standard questions that you'd expect and was invited to a trial shift or "team assessment" straight after the weekend. This lasted just over an hour and involved being introduced to tills and serving some customers, working on the shop floor and greeting customers and also a 20 minute stint on delivery. Didn't get to know how it had gone on the day but got an email two days later telling me I had been offered the position and details for my induction and first shift :)
