Very Bad, So I recently lost my job and needed any type of job to support myself. I applied for a delivary assistant job role and i received an email from Next stating that they would like me to join them hence they asked me to go for an assessment.Date and time was given and I was asked to take my passport with me. Once I reached there, they showed us around and they showed and how their delivery system works. I was under impression that we probably have to demonstrate our work for a short period that's all. I couldn't be more wrong, they made us work 6pm till 10.30 pm. I was wearing smart clothes and shoes it was very difficult to do delivary work with smart clothes. I was wearing smart clothes assuming interview as they didn't interview me. After the free labour I realised that they intentionally booked for 4 candidates for delivery day which is Thursday and it arrives at 6 on Thursday. They could of make it clear that it will be a work trial and how long it could of been. Thank God there was some Muslim staff who shared their food with us to break the fast as none of us took any food with us. On our email invitation they said they will check our passport but nobody checkd our passport. When I asked about it they said if successful they will ask to go in again to show passport. I was shocked and couldn't belive it. It was very misleading when they asked us to go for an assessment without any interview and end working in their busy hours. I done little research as HMRC thinks that an employer need to tell job seekers that how long the assessment or work trial should of been, any reasonable adjustments and health and safety procedures . I'm not sure if I should compliant to Next HR or report to HMRC as this is just wrong.

Easy interview with questions around availability and questions about previous experience. Also have to complete an initial screening online with easy situation tests etc - don't discuss this in the in person interview.
