J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus de 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez NCS (Melbourne) en nov. 2024

      Entretien

I would like to share my negative interview experience with NCS Australia (Melbourne based role). NCS confirmed that I had made it though the interviews, made me prepare a custom CV in NCS format to represent me to their client and kept me waiting for over 2 months before telling me that they are yet to receive a confirmation from their client. I was pretty much annoyed after waiting for so long. Here's how the entire process played out... I applied directly to NCS through LinkedIn for a Melbourne based role and received a call from the HR at NCS. The interview process was short with only 2 rounds. An hour long first round technical interview (last week of November 2024) and a half-hour long second round manager interview (a week later). I enjoyed the technical interview with a cool guy and was more of a chat with a few questions asked. However, I found the lady manager taking the second round to be a bit rushed. Overall the interview process was short and to the point, unlike a few other companies that make it too long. I followed up a week later (second week of December) and was told that I made it through the interviews and they expected me to start most likely after the holiday shutdown period. About 2 days later, I had the manager who took the interview send out an email asking me to redo my entire resume in a NCS template that she shared and submit it back EOD. This included converting all previous work and project experiences and would take a considerable amount of time. This appeared to be a red flag to me as the resume would be used to represent me to the client as their employee. I also believe they should not have asked me to do something time consuming as I was not yet their employee nor had they made any formal offer or contract. Redoing the resume into their template did end up taking a significant amount of time. I also received a call from the manager who took the second round interview at 10am in the morning next day asking me to send it by midday; well did she forget that I am not yet employed by NCS nor is she my manager? Also did she just take my phone number from my resume for the job application and decide to directly call me? At this point I started wondering if it would be that great working here after all and found the overall experience so far to be in line with the 1.8 star glassdoor reviews for their Melbourne location. Here is a direct link... https://www.glassdoor.com.au/Reviews/NCS-Melbourne-Reviews-EI_IE138872.0,3_IL.4,13_IC2264754.htm?sort.sortType=RD&sort.ascending=false&filter.iso3Language=eng&filter.employmentStatus=REGULAR&filter.employmentStatus=PART_TIME I was expecting HR to contact me after the holiday period. However, this did not happen and I called back after the holiday period (second week of January 2025) to enquire; HR did not pick calls or respond to my initial email. After I CCed the manager, I received a response from HR asking me to wait a bit longer. This had me wondering if they were hiring for an approved position (or if was purely a speculative one) and if they valued the applicant's time after all. I contacted HR again via email 4 weeks later (first week of February) to be told that the client did not get back yet and it might not be good news. At this point I was pretty much convinced that the entire process was a waste of my time and NCS was trying to hire in advance for speculative roles in projects if and when they are approved later. I can still see multiple roles still being advertised by NCS at the time of writing this review. However, I would not consider applying with this company again in the future, at least until they improve their hiring process and are more respectful and considerate of the applicant's time. Here is some advice if NCS gives you a verbal offer - ask them to make a formal offer before spending any more of your time on anything, including converting your resume to NCS format to share with their client.
