      Entretien pour FP&A Associate

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez N26 (Londres, Angleterre) en sept. 2019

      Entretien

I had applied to other position (Finance Business Partner) at N26 for which my candidature was rejected. Later on, I was contacted by mail by a HR Business Partner saying to me that although he has rejected my position, they though that I was an interesting fit for a FP&A associate position if I wanted to interview for this position. I was interested and after schedulling and going through a video interview with him reviewing my CV, he offered me to go to the next step solving a business case. I was given a business case about creating an integrated financial model for N26. The case needed to be solved in 5 days and was about the financing needs of N26 to bridge to the next IPO for 2 possible scenarios. I delivered the case working during 5 days. I received feedback from the case saying that the model was solid but I had not provided an explicit answer to the main question of the exercise. The thing is that there were not such an explicit question on the case. There were 3 explicit questions that were answered. To my surprise the rejection of my candidature and I quote literally was "Our decision was based upon a careful comparison of the demands of the position with the skills and experience of each candidate". So basically the base for the rejection was that the demands of the position was not matching my CV. I am struggling to understand why an amoral / unprofessional HR business partner said to me that I was a good fit, made me to spend 5 days of my time delivering a solid business case, to later on telling me that my skills and experience were not matching the job posting. If it was for the business case for which I was rejected I could have understood this....but not... Later on I checked for the banking experience of the FP&A manager that evaluated my case and with very little surprise to me (this time) I discovered that was close none existant (if we remove the 1 month tenure at N26). All in all, HR very unprofessional.
