Applied online and was called to come in for an interview, and had to bring a model with me. After a verbal interview, i had to demo a basic makeup application on my model. I got the job, came back in filled out paperwork and never got called back.

The interview was very was very clear cut ,but the recruiter made me very comfortable. We focused on work history and artistry. Having a portfolio is a big boost and being able to give product descriptions is also important. Shallow answers will not impress, make sure you do your research and have some know how about sales, marketing, and cosmetics of course.
