      Entretien

The candidate application pack was clear, and detailed dates for the full hiring process, which was appreciated. A webinar was held while the job vacancy was open, led by the comms team, which told candidates more about the role and allowed them to ask questions - I was really impressed by this. I've never seen a company do this before and it was incredibly useful. The application requirements were a CV and supporting statement. I was delighted to be invited to the first round of interviews promptly, and in line with the dates advised in the candidate pack. The interview was completed remotely via Teams, was in a Q&A style, and was relatively formal. Second round interviews were to be held the following week, and I was informed during my interview I would hear back the next day. Unfortunately, I then heard nothing at all. I waited a week and followed up, which was met with no response. I waited another week before following up again, to which I received a response from HR saying they would check with the hiring managers and get back to me, but never did. What began as a very positive, fair and impressive hiring process for candidates ended disappointingly. While I can assume I was not successful in moving to the second stage, which is not a problem and all part of looking for a new job, it would be nice to be told one way or another, rather than be left in the dark. I understand hiring processes are time consuming for a team that also has a day job to complete, but it is also time consuming for a candidate too. I spent several hours working on my application, attending the webinar, evenings preparing for the interview and took time off work to complete the interview, and it was a huge shame to then be left with no answer, let alone be able to request feedback.
