I interviewed for Motive September 2023. While there were some interviews that were standard/expected, I thought the whole process was just unnecessarily long and demanding of the interviewer, especially for someone like me w/ 3YOE who is just looking for mid level positions and not higher level positions. I gave up 8 or 9 hours of interview time and a weekend to set up my real world problem interview just to get the phone call that they chose someone else. The interviews that were especially odd were Top Grading (seemed unnecessarily detailed/critical given the initial behavioral interview) and Real World Problem (Felt odd to ask the interviewee to set up so much on their own laptop for a 60 min interview; felt like this should've been a take home instead).
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
- Recruiter Call - Technical Round (Leetcode Easy/Medium) - Behavioral Round w/ Hiring Manager - Onsite: - Technical Interview (Leetcode Medium) - Technical Interview (Leetcode Medium) - System Design Interview - Real World Coding Problem (On your own laptop have an API with a framework of your choice and a data store. They will provide the data as a csv. You should be comfortable making http requests, manipulating JSONs, and making database queries) - Top Grading Interview (Like Behavioral interview, but more in depth/critical)

Complete waste of time. Had me go through 7 rounds of interviews under the pretense that it would be a fully remote role. Received a verbal offer and they mentioned their "policy had changed" and would now require me to work in-person. Then rescinded the offer for no given reason. Overall, very unprofessional in my opinion, seems like the company culture is probably similar.
My expereince was fine. The interviewer was looking out for me to see the quick solution instead of looking at the approach to the solution. They had their own solution in mind and they were more focused on that.
