      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Morningstar (Mumbai) en oct. 2018

      Entretien

After a headhunter's contact, I was shortlisted for a video call with Chief Quality & Transformational Officer and it was an interactive session discussing company profile and importance of the role. Subsequently I was requested to appear for an in person meeting at their India Office for a couple of hours however I was extremely surprised to understand that I will be meeting five key directors in a five hour long schedule, leaving me confused about the decision making process and role of these five directors. Upon headhunter's recommendation that these sessions would be a mix of interview and walkthroughs, I went ahead for a marathon meeting schedule that included a meeting schedule to meet MD and HR Head in 3rd round. It was disturbing to understand that concerned HR recruiter was on a break at the scheduled time of interview and one of director directly reached me after 15 minutes delay. The director was mostly staring at my resume and perhaps wondering about my shortlisting as his questions evolved around financial service experience that is ideally done at the screening stage itself. During these five meetings, I realized that something is wrong as many of the directors looked quite disinterested in conducting an interview and it appeard as a 'check in the box' sessions. To my utmost surprise, one of the key management person started meeting by asking "why do quality guys mention their achievements in your resume". I understood that previous incumbenant has left the organization for personal reasons and considering his well know credentials, it left me with no doubt about their interest. The position seems to be an initiave led by global team and indian team were indifferent about role and its importance. Informally I understood how some of the key directors disliked this role and that indian operations has some disconnect with global team given reporting relationships and delivery expectations. It was astonoshing to receive a regret note with remarks that could have not been assessed based on the in person interview. The feedback was subjective and even my headhunter did not agree to it. It leaves me with little doubt about company and working enviroment.
