I applied through the Morningstar's website and uploaded a resume, cover letter, and a writing sample of an investment thesis for a specific company. Got an e-mail from HR a week or two later to setup a call with the director of the specific sector coverage. Turns out it was a call with the director and another equity analyst. The interview took only 30 minutes and I received mostly technical questions and my experience at my current role. After the phone interview, I was given a few days to complete a writing test online. I didn't have enough time to ask too many questions given the time constraint. Thought the interview was fair given the amount of technical knowledge needed to perform the responsibilities.
If you were going to buy some portion of a company, what are the one to three main items you would like to know before you made the investment? Why is each of these factors important to your decision?
You are the CEO of a successful company whose primary business is selling goods and services to consumers. Customers make purchases by user-specific accounts on their phone, giving your company a substantial amount of data of customer behaviors and practices. One of your team members suggests aggregating and selling your customer data to third parties as an additional monetization method. Make and defend your decision, taking into consideration all stakeholders impacted.

Home assessment was 2 hours test with four different sections. Not the easiest for somebody who has not been in the sector for a while. Furthermore they made a mistake and interviewed me for the wrong (more junior) position. I heard nothing untill I reached out again. They told me they would contact me the Monday after but that day never came. After two weeks I got a standard email saying my application would not go further. Very disappointing, lots of time wasted on them. To make things worse, I decided to subscribe for their equity research service. Well I ended up learning they have serious interface problems on the webpages which makes the service unaccessible. Speechless I tried many times again but I only learnt others had the same problem. I unsubscribed from the service.
