      Entretien

I was contacted by a staffing agency, who said they were working with Moreover to fill a U/I Designer position that the company was unable to fill on their own. I filled out an application, and I was told I was an excellent match for the position, and was told I would be taking a skills assessment. I figured it would be an assessment of my skills in relation to the position. It turned out to be a 2 hour long SAT test like assessment. I was wary, but I decided to take the time and go ahead and do it. After the assessment, I was contacted by someone from Reynolds and Reynolds HR department, and given another application to fill out, which asked for some really personal information, like how much do you pay for your car and the names and employers of your parents, along with another questionnaire about ethics. I contacted the staffing agency and let them know that i was uncomfortable answering some of the questions, they told me they thought some of the questions were odd too, and to answer only what I felt comfortable with and also told me that Moreover would be contacting me for an interview and that the fact that they wanted this info from me was a good sign. I filled out quite a bit of the application and the ethics survey and returned it to an HR person with Reynolds & Reynolds. At this point I was contacted 2 additional times, and was being pressured to answer the questions I skipped over in the application. I politely declined to give that information, and called the staffing agency with my concerns. I was told that the information was not required, and that it would not affect my chances of being given an interview or being hired. I waited for a call to come in for an interview, and one day received an email stating that Moreover was not going to be offering me a position, even though I hadn't been to one interview or talked to one person besides the staffing agency recruiter about my skills and their relevance to this job. I contacted the staffing agency, and they were confused as to why i was told that I would not be offered a position, because they had been told that myself, as well as one other candidate would be going in for interviews. The staffing agency said they would get back with me. I ended up having to call them back and found out not only did they have no idea why Moreover did not offer me an interview, but Moreover refused to return their calls to give feedback on the candidates provided by the agency. I have no idea what exactly went on, but it seems as if Moreover, with the assistance of Reynolds & Reynolds HR, is collecting a bunch of personal information from people with the false hope that they are being considered for a job. Years ago, i had applied at R&R, and went through a similar process. Spent a bunch of time on their tests, and then promptly received a letter informing me I would not be granted an interview. They have taken it to a new level by contracting staffing agencies to help do their dirty work. Moreover Technologies presses upon its potential employees things like ethics tests, yet they act in a most unethical way.
