I went into this interview extremely excited at the opportunity to work with the growing team at Media.Monks. However, I ended up leaving disappointed with their hiring process.
I know they are acquiring multiple companies at a rapid pace, but this was one of the most disorganized interview processes I’ve been a part of. After completing two interviews, I reached out to the recruiter who had initially contacted me and was told that they would be reaching out to the hiring manager for “next steps”. After multiple attempts to reach out for an update, I received no response. I ended up reaching out to the two people I interviewed with and they said they’d circle back with the recruiter to get an answer — nothing for another 10 days. I decided to call and left a message to the recruiter. Finally received a rejection via email same day. As many have said in previous reviews, I was led to believe that something would happen and then was sent a rejection due to other “candidates whose experience and salary request align slightly closer to this role”. The experience part I may understand, but to throw in that my salary request was not in line with their expectations was a blow to the face especially when I was told I was well in range with what they were offering for this role in the screening call. A simple rejection email would’ve sufficed a week or so after the second interview rather than being told that there would be “next steps”.
Not all bad, both interviewers were a pleasure to speak with. My main gripe is with their hiring process and the lack of follow-up. It shouldn’t take four weeks to coax a response out of the talent acquisition team.
