The interview process consisted of several steps: 1. Document Screening: The initial selection was based on the resume and submitted documents. 2. Online Technical Test: This included questions on programming, database design, AWS, and performance optimization. 3. First Technical Interview: Conducted in English by a foreign interviewer. It lasted about 60 minutes and focused on my work experience, technical skills, and achievements in past projects. 4. HR Interview: A 30-minute interview in Japanese, covering topics like visa status, expected salary, joining date, and the timeline for offer issuance. 5. Final Interview: Conducted in Japanese with a deputy general manager at the PM level. This was not a technical interview but centered on self-introduction, motivation for changing jobs, difficulties faced in past work, and a detailed discussion of my work history and responsibilities. Unfortunately, I was rejected at this stage. Results were usually communicated within three days after each interview. However, no reason for the rejection was provided. Additionally, I noticed that the day after my final interview, many new positions appeared on LinkedIn that closely matched my resume and experience. These listings seemed to use my TOEIC score level and similar technical background as part of their new recruitment standards, specifically targeting full-stack engineers and technical leadership candidates.

5 rounds in total. 1st round: introduction to their company and initial assessment, previous experiences. 2nd round: two coding tests of 2 hours and 4 hours. one on dynamic programming and the other to build and deploy a service from scratch on cloud. 3rd round: technical interview, coding questions (language agnostic - mostly pseudo code) 4th round: system design round 5th round : behavior and culture fit Meeting with HR to release the offer.
