I wish companies would invest in Calendly or other alternatives when starting interviews for potential employees. The general recruiter reached out and asked for potential dates and times for an interview. I gave my availability and the recruiter replied back that the VP was busy those days and offered alternative dates. I was bit confused since I still had to do a phone screening process and I found it unusually that a VP would be talking to me in the first round. Regardless, I replied with new dates and times later in the week that were better for the VP. The reply back from the generalist was a scheduled time earlier in the week (one of the original times I suggested) and I would be talking to them (the generalist recruiter) instead. I emailed asking to qualify if this was correct and I would no longer be talking to a VP. The recruiter did apologize and clarified. The whole process gave me a really bad first impression and makes me think internal communication is lacking .
