J'ai passé un entretien chez Merkle (Londres, Angleterre) en févr. 2016

      Entretien

3 stages: telephone, face to face and then presentation + QA on a given marketing task. I was more than qualified for the role academically and did plenty of research on digital marketing and performed very well on the logic test. But somehow sadly did not receive any offer. Its advertised as being a role where you need to have average to decent grades and have good communication skills and the theory and skills will be taught to you but it seems you have to live, eat and breathe ppc or programmatic before you start to get an offer. Also to note after the whole process lasting almost a month and all the time spent on the application, research and presentation task. You get a rather cold email of your rejection, not even a phone call, along with a generic feedback copy and paste (presented well but did not show enough interest in role and company) why would someone apply and go through the whole process if they were not interested! That being said the company does look like an awesome place to work.

Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Merkle

      Entretien

First stage was a video interview, quick to do. Asked questions related to cv, education, and a technical question. Following this, a Skype interview with two team members, this was an intense hour. They want to check it is ppc you are after, not just digital marketing, so make sure this comes across. The questions focused on why you want the job, they also ask questions on your ability to apply certain skills and ask how you would logistically calculate the revenue of a company so you can talk through all the considerations and show some knowledge. This was followed by a interview at the office a week later. They gave feedback in between the interviews, which was really nice to here as often you don’t here back about how you do. The day of the interview focused on a presentation about a random company, I had to produce a ppc campaign and talk about the different considerations (they give you a criteria list, so you know what to put in the presentation), this followed with 20 minutes of questions about the presentation and 20 about myself again. I was able to ask a lot of questions about the job too. I thought the process was quick (2 weeks) and feedback was really nice to receive as I could adjust my approach to the interview for this. I thought the company was really flexible and came across really well. They even asked what start date I would want, and if I wanted to go travelling before starting with them, which was a nice touch. I think, as long as you do the research, have confidence and know why you want the job, you can have a considerable chance of success. This isn’t a job you can apply for on a whim, it requires a bit of input, but they do apply a lot of effect their end too.

J'ai postulé via une agence de recrutement. Le processus a pris plus d'une semaine. J'ai passé un entretien chez Merkle (Londres, Angleterre) en juill. 2016

      Entretien

Phone interview followed by group interview. All very laid back and relaxed. Phone interview was just general motivation and competency questions. Talked through CV and motivation for role. A few technical questions about PPC so would recommend revising some basic topics beforehand but otherwise very straightforward. Group interview was a week later at the offices in London Bridge. It lasted a few hours and consisted of a short presentation about yourself followed by a group task. I then had a very short individual interview to cover motivation and preferred start date
