Entretien
Three interviews in one day:
1) General technical programming and problem solving. 2 part test: 1 Java/C#, 1 SQL. Given a couple of hours to complete the two tests alone. The SQL can seem rather indepth at first but it's more to see if you understand what's going on in the background.
2) HR interview. This was pretty standard (as HR interview tend to be): give an example of a challenge you overcame, and so on.
3) 2nd technical interview with potential team lead. A discussion with the VP of the engineering team the position was for. A discussion about own, out-of-work projects, and what will be expected within the team; an overview of the product and what it's capable of.

Question 1
A lot of the SQL questions (form an engineering POV) are, or can be, solved by using tools such as Hibernate. And so having to explain the inner workings of a complex SQL query can be daunting for someone who's used Hibernate.

The offered position did not match the job description. The interview is of three stages: - Screening Call - Video call interview with the hiring manager - Video Pair programming. HR and the engineer during pairing were friendly, but the hiring manager was too formal and strict and the interview got off the track. Offer received but the position did not match the job description. I asked to schedule a meeting with the hiring manager, which was then cancelled last minute and never rescheduled and didn't hear back from the manager. HR reached out to the manager but didn't hear back from them either.
