I had an easy time applying to Mathematica. The process was transparent throughout and I was treated with respect the whole way through. It started with a phone screening where the gave an overview of what the application process was. I always knew what the next step was and about how long I would have to wait to hear back. At first I had applied for a different position that I didn't get; rather than ghost me or send a boiler plate email, the recruiter from the company called me to tell me--I thought this was very considerate.
In the end, because it seemed like a good company, I re-applied for a similar position (they were flexible about that and didn't make me redo an assessment from the last time I applied) and ended up getting it.
In the interviews themselves, people were kind and welcoming. I didn't ever feel like someone was trying to grill me or ask me a trick question.
Had phone screen scheduled and met with the recruiter. We talked about my skills, experience, and why I’m interested in the role. They said they would get back to me 1 1/2 weeks for an interview if they think I’m fit. I didn’t get an email back so that’s as far it goes for the interview process.

Interview process took about a month which was communicated from the beginning of the interview process. HR representative was super transparent helpful through each step.
Three interviews total - phone screen, technical interview, and panel interview. You prepare your code ahead of time for the technical interview. Panel interview was a bit challenging, but they ask really thoughtful questions to get a sense of who you are and how you work.
