I've applied after I had talked to a recruiter in my school. I've received an email within 1 week inviting me to record a video. However, I didn't even bother opening the link and starting the process because I read On glassdoor how some people were rejected even though they did extremely well. I also read on glassdoor almost 255 reviews and the technical questions the recruiters ask. Although these questions were basic from undergraduate school, they were general and I don't believe its fair to evaluate a postdoc engineer based on such a broad approach. Also, it seems like the max salary for this position is in the 70 s, not worth it for a PhD graduates. Consequently I sent mathworks a gentle email to thank them for choosing me and for dropping out. The time that I'll spend preparing to answer there questions can be better invested in writing a research paper. I still think mathworks is an awesome place, but their HR and recruiting strategy should improve, it raises concerns for talented professional.
