J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez Mastercard en sept. 2024

      Entretien

I was contacted by a Mastercard recruiter via LinkedIn as apparently my profile matched their need for a position. We set up a zoom call and had an engaging conversion over the position, my current role, their needs etc. By the end of the call, with feedback the recruiter would forward me to the department manager interview, I said that we needed to discuss the salary expectations as I was not actively looking for jobs and I wouldn't move forward on further discussions without knowing our expectations were aligned. The recruiter said "thank you very much for bringing that question it is a very important one (...) unfortunately I cannot tell you the salary range, but you can tell me your expectations and we can check afterwards" - [first yellow flag]. I told my expectations and I was told they were above their range, "surprisingly" the recruiter could tell me afterwards the maximum amount of the range, which was exactly what I was earning on my current company. I told the recruiter I wouldn't move forward leaving a stable position for a new position/team/company/framework for the same salary. At this point I would totally accept the recruiter to tell me, "let's call it off then". Would be business as usual, it is a negotiation where both parties are not aligned. But no, the recruiter decided to tell me that she would still align with the department manager on the possibility to make a counter-offer and she would give me feedback afterwards to decide whether or not to move forward with the process. Of course, the feedback was never received, 1 month later I was committing with new projects on my company so I reached out to the same recruiter via LinkedIn and Gmail to be sure the process was not on the table anymore - no response given back whatsoever. I am totally fine with business negotiations, unmatched expectations, but I can't accept lack of professionalism, especially from recruiters requesting leisure time from external potential employees. For a financing company, falls short on discussing financing matters.
