I applied through Linkedin at the end of June. Massmutual HR emailed me during the first week of July and arranged the interview with the senior member of the hiring team in a few days.
The interviewer was very nice, he was talking most of the time. He told me that there are four hiring managers, they are planning to hire four associate PMs and I am going to talk to all hiring managers. At the end of the interview he asked me a couple of easy questions which I answered. I asked him what kind of skill set they are looking for. He said that he has no doubts that I can handle the job. He concluded that I can email him anytime with the additional questions.
Few days after the first interview I sent the HR thank you email and I got no reply.
Three weeks later HR sent me an email to interview with another hiring manager who is junior to the first interviewer. In the beginning of the interview he started asking me what exactly the senior person told me during the interview. It raised a red flag: it looks like this guy is very focused on office politics. The interview went smoothly, I was able to answer all the questions.
He told me that I am going to talk to the rest of the hiring managers.
I sent a thank you email to the second interviewer and then to the HR and I got no reply.
I also emailed the first interviewer thank you email and asked him about the next steps.
I got no reply.
Three weeks later I got a rejection email from HR.
The whole process took about two months and it was not handled professionally.
The job is still posted online and I just realized that it was first posted in mid May. It makes me wonder if they are really hiring for this position.
